Kurz vor der Wahl zum Senator wird David Norris von einer Jugendsünde eingeholt und dafür von der Presse zerrissen. Als er die Wahl verliert, sabotiert das den Plan, den Gott für Norris zu Gunsten der Welt entworfen hatte. Plötzlich tauchen Männer auf, die Norris‘ Leben mit göttlichem Segen wieder auf Kurs bringen, der ihn trotzdem noch ins Weiße Haus führen soll. Doch Norris‘ Begegnung mit Ballerina Elise gefährdet diesen Plan, denn Liebe auf den ersten Blick und Verschiebung von Prioritäten ist darin nicht vorgesehen.
